How do you play Reversi/Othello?

Reversi is played on an 8x8 board. Black moves first. Place your piece to flank opponent pieces between your new piece and an existing piece in a straight line (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal). All flanked pieces flip to your color. You must flip at least one piece. The game ends when neither player can move.

What are the rules of Reversi?

Both players place discs on the board. A valid move must outflank at least one opponent disc - meaning your new disc and an existing disc of yours must sandwich opponent discs in a line. All outflanked discs flip to your color. If you cannot flip any discs, you pass your turn. The game ends when neither player can move. The player with more discs wins.
